Aqueous organic flow battery

        As a new type of energy storage technology, water-based organic flow batteries are different from all vanadium, iron chromium and other flow batteries that use strong acids as supporting electrolytes. This technology uses a neutral NaCl aqueous solution as the supporting electrolyte, making the product safer and more environmentally friendly, with higher overall energy efficiency and longer applicable life. Its electrolyte is an organic substance synthesized by chemical engineering, neutral and non corrosive, safer, environmentally friendly, with lower manufacturing costs and no constraints from metal resources. It has high energy conversion efficiency and long cycle life, making it a new direction for the development of electrochemical energy storage.

        This battery has lower self discharge compared to all vanadium and iron chromium batteries, making it particularly suitable for long-term energy storage. Its application scenarios mainly include wind and solar power distribution and storage, coordination with coal-fired power plants for frequency regulation/peak shaving, grid side frequency regulation/peak shaving, and user side peak shaving and valley filling. Compared to all vanadium and iron chromium liquid flow batteries, water-based organic liquid flow batteries have lower investment and operation costs, and have huge potential for future development.


Anion exchange membrane

        Ion exchange membranes achieve the construction of a complete circuit in battery structures by selectively permeating ions, which is an important component of new energy conversion devices. Whether their performance meets the requirements is the basic prerequisite for the commercial application of new energy batteries, and it is also an important component of China's research and utilization of new energy technology. Ion exchange membranes carry ionic groups, which can be mainly divided into two types based on their different functional groups: cation exchange membranes and anion exchange membranes.

        At present, perfluorosulfonic acid proton exchange membranes are widely used in the commercial field. Due to the carbon fluorine structure of their main chain, the membranes have excellent chemical stability, water stability, and high mechanical stability, as well as high proton conductivity. Due to the complex preparation process, proton exchange membranes have long been monopolized by a few manufacturers in the United States and Japan, such as DuPont, Gore, and Asahi.

        Anion exchange membranes are mainly composed of positively charged functional groups (including quaternary ammonium salts, imidazole salts, quaternary phosphates, etc.), which form a positive electric field to attract OH - and thus achieve the transfer of OH - ions in the electrolyte, while blocking the passage of cations. Compared to cation exchange membranes, they have excellent properties such as low resistance, high mechanical strength, high selectivity, and high stability.

        The anion exchange membrane produced by our company can be applied to all vanadium and organic flow battery systems. Its ion permeability is low, conductivity is high, structural stability is good, and performance is superior to the average level of the same type in the industry. At present, the product has achieved mass production, stable and controllable quality, and significant price and cost advantages.
